Mary Dada

she/her

Hi! My name is Mary Dada and my pronouns are she/her. I am currently located in New York City, but where I call home is what is now known as Ancaster, the land of the Anishinabewaki, Attiwonderonk, Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Mississauga and Haudenosaunee peoples. As a young, cis-gendered, Black woman and second-generation immigrant, I would like to acknowledge the privilege that accompanies my identity, and my ability to dedicate time to this work that so many others can not afford. I would also like to acknowledge the honour I have to be a part of this community alongside so many inspirational and talented individuals. My goal has always been to elevate the voices of those in my community, while also working to use my platform to share messages of social justice with them. I do not intend to speak on behalf of groups I am not a part of, but to actively listen and promote these voices as best as I can.
