Rose Duncan

she/her

Hello, Bonjour, my name is Rose and I use she/her pronouns. I currently reside in the city of Tkaronto, Treaty 13 land, as a second-generation settler on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnarbeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples, which is now home to a diverse array of peoples.  I contribute to this project through the lens of a white, cis-gendered, able-bodied woman and I wish to acknowledge the privilege this provides me and how it has shaped my relationship with climate and justice activism. I wish to centre my activism through an inclusive and empowering medium, to make space for marginalized and underserved communities to bring attention to the environmental and social injustices which disproportionately affect their communities and share their lived experiences, and hold my fellow settlers accountable for the privilege we hold. Finally, I hope to provide and encourage rest and introspection through actionable items, so that more youth are confident following their climate journey through their own unique positionality.
